Kim Yong-seok, a chair professor at Gachon University (head of the Semiconductor Education Center), was appointed as a co-chair of the Special Committee on Semiconductor Super Gap Strategy under the Fair, Innovation and Inclusion Gyeonggi Provincial Government Governor-elect Choo Mi-ae's transition committee.
The "Fair, Innovation and Inclusion Gyeonggi Preparatory Committee" consists of six subcommittees, 15 special committees, and three task forces, and began full-fledged activities with a signboard hanging and launching ceremony on the 15th. Among them, the Special Committee on Semiconductor Super Gap Strategy was established to discuss ways to strengthen the competitiveness of the semiconductor sector, a key industry in Gyeonggi Province, and Professor Kim Yong-seok and Professor Kim Tae-gon of Korea University will participate as co-chairs.
In addition, Professor Kim will also participate as an advisor in the "Hope Sungnam Innovation Committee," which is a transition organization for mayoral positions that will materialize Seongnam Mayor-elect Shin Sang-jin's vision and policy direction.
Professor Kim is serving as chairman of the AI Semiconductor Alliance of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and is expected to play a bridge role in the central government, Gyeonggi-do, and Seongnam.
