Gachon University selected G-BRIDGE project in Gyeonggi-do...University Technology Commercialization in earnest
Forming a consortium with Eulji University, promoting a demand-based technology commercialization of companies with a total of 2 billion won over the past four years, and strengthening the connection between practical use and start-ups of research results
Gachon University was recently selected as a university to carry out the G-University Creative Asset Practicalization Support (G-BRIDGE) project promoted by Gyeonggi Province.
Gachon University will form a consortium with Eulji University to carry out the project, and will receive a total of 2 billion won each year for the next four years to promote the technical commercialization of research results and intellectual property held by the university.

Gyeonggi Province has reorganized the existing regional innovation-oriented university support system (RISE) into a regional growth talent training system (anchor) and is expanding university support in connection with local industries.
The G-BRIDGE project is a new project that promotes technological practical use by linking the research results of universities with creative assets such as patents, original technologies, prototypes, and start-up items with corporate demand. Eight general universities, including Gachon University and Kyung Hee University, were selected for this project.
Through the business, Gachon University plans to promote technology commercialization by linking research results in future industries such as bio-health, artificial intelligence (AI), semiconductors and displays, advanced mobility, and next-generation communication with local companies.
In addition, it plans to discover promising technologies based on corporate demand and establish a system to support the entire commercialization process, including technology advancement, technology transfer, joint research, technology start-up, and investment linkage. Through this, it plans to expand the practical use of university research results and contribute to improving the technological competitiveness of local companies and fostering new industries.
Gachon University has been promoting various industry-academic cooperation and technology transfer projects, and plans to further strengthen the technology commercialization system centered on corporate demand with this G-BRIDGE project. In particular, it plans to expand support for follow-up commercialization so that university research results can lead to technology transfer, start-ups and corporate growth, and continue to strengthen cooperation with local industries.
"With this G-BRIDGE project, we will serve as an actionable base to link technology transfer, commercialization, start-ups, and corporate growth within the anchor system in Gyeonggi Province," said Park Tae-sik, head of the industry-academic cooperation group. "We will connect the creative assets of universities to the growth assets of local companies and contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of the high-tech industry ecosystem in Gyeonggi Province."
