About:
The Soft Semiconductor Electronics Lab at Gachon University develops next-generation semiconductor materials and devices by precisely controlling molecular organization and nanoscale structures. We investigate the self-assembly and molecular orientation of organic small molecules, polymers, liquid crystals, and bio-derived materials to create high-performance semiconductor and dielectric films that respond dynamically to external stimuli and environmental conditions. By translating the structural and dynamic properties of soft materials into electrical and optical signals, we develop neuromorphic devices, physical unclonable functions (PUFs), multivalued logic devices, chiral optoelectronics, and intelligent sensors. Through interdisciplinary research spanning material design, thin-film structure control, device fabrication, and system-level applications, we aim to establish energy-efficient and intelligent soft electronic platforms beyond the limitations of conventional semiconductor technologies.
