About:
Dr. Sungjin Kim received his Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from North Carolina State University in 2004 under the supervision of Dr. David Aspnes of the Department of Physics. Upon completing his doctoral studies, he joined Samsung Electronics, which was later spun off as Samsung Display in 2012. During his 13 years with the company, he worked in both the corporate research institute and the display product mass-production division, gaining extensive experience in the semiconductor and display industries. After leaving Samsung, he further broadened his professional experience by working with small and medium-sized enterprises and pursuing entrepreneurial activities. Since 2020, he has been serving as a full-time professor at Gachon University. His teaching interests focus primarily on foundational scientific education, including General Chemistry, College Mathematics, and College Physics. Drawing on both academic training and industry experience, he aims to provide students with a strong foundation in fundamental scientific principles.
