Laboratory Introduction


The laboratories in the Department of Semiconductor Display merge ultra-fine semiconductor processing with innovative optical engineering to revolutionize human visual experiences. Our research groups are deeply engaged in developing Micro-LEDs ($\mu\text{LED}$), ultra-high-resolution Micro-OLEDs, and flexible or stretchable substrate and encapsulation technologies aimed at leading the metaverse era.

Moving beyond conventional panels that merely display images, we spearhead intelligent panel technologies embedded with integrated sensors and localized AI functionalities, alongside eco-friendly, ultra-low-power luminescent materials. Equipped with high-precision organic/inorganic thin-film analysis instruments and advanced optical simulation tools, our graduate researchers drive a broad spectrum of innovations—ranging from foundational materials science to immediately commercializable industrial applications. Our display laboratories are committed to securing the core technologies for next-generation screens, seamlessly connecting physical and virtual realities.
