Laboratory Introduction

The laboratories in the Department of System Semiconductor serve as the epicenter for convergence research in intelligent semiconductors and System-on-Chip (SoC) technologies, which power our hyper-connected future—including Artificial Intelligence (AI), autonomous mobility, the Internet of Things (IoT), and digital healthcare. Our research teams specialize in neuromorphic computing architectures that mimic the human neural network, as well as high-performance Neural Processing Unit (NPU) hardware accelerators optimized for efficient AI workloads.

We also pioneer heterogeneous integration technologies that process complex data collected from diverse sensors across both analog and digital domains. Supported by major government-funded R&D grants and tight-knit corporate partnerships, our researchers benefit from data-driven environments and Multi-Project Wafer (MPW) programs to tape-out and validate their custom chip designs in actual foundries. Our labs go beyond combining conventional circuits; they design the intelligent brains that make the world a smarter place.
